Precision Lineset

The Precision Lineset is best understood as a replacement line assembly intended for an appropriate Precision Aerodynamics parachute canopy. Suspension lines are safety-critical components connecting the canopy to the riser system, and their dimensions, material, attachment arrangement, and trim directly relate to the specific canopy design. Precision Aerodynamics manufactures sport, tandem, military, and emergency parachute equipment, so the exact canopy model, size, serial information, and manufacturer-approved configuration should be established before a replacement set is ordered or installed.

Line material should never be guessed from appearance. In modern parachuting, common line families include Dacron, Spectra/Microline, Vectran, and high-modulus aramid. Each has different characteristics concerning elasticity, dimensional stability, abrasion resistance, bulk, and drag. For example, the USPA notes that Spectra can progressively shrink and move a canopy out of trim, while Vectran offers greater dimensional stability and HMA combines low bulk with low drag but requires careful monitoring for abrasion and snagging.
